Adriana has worked as a Psychologist for over 10 years in a variety of settings, including the not-for-profit sector, public hospital system and private consulting. She also worked as a Research Fellow for Deakin University, and currently consults on research studies upon request.
Coming from a Health Psychology background, Adriana has a special interest in supporting adolescents and adults with chronic health conditions and eating disorders, as well as those who have experienced traumatic stress. In her practice, Adriana takes a holistic view of health, with the understanding that the mind and body work together.
Adriana provides a safe, open and non-judgemental atmosphere, with the aim of supporting clients to achieve their goals.
She is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (including CBT for Eating Disorders), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family-Based Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Adriana also facilitates the Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation (MBSM) Group Program at OPTIMIND, for those wishing to learn about Mindfulness and Meditation.
