Tara Griffin

MPsych (Clinical) BPsych (Hons)

Tara Griffin is a nationally registered Clinical Psychologist, and a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She has worked in private practice for over 10 years and uses a client-centered approach to help achieve patient goals.

Her therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Bariatric Assessment. Since 2011, she has worked in providing support to adults and young people to help optimise their daily functioning and assist them through significant life changes and struggles. This includes patients with motivational and behavioural concerns, burnout, disordered eating, body image and identity issues, self-esteem, relational stress, weight and bariatric management, as well as symptoms of anxiety/panic disorder, depression, trauma and management of chronic disease, including diabetes mellitus.

After being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 14 years of age, Tara’s interest in health began, and she became increasingly aware of the power of thought on human behaviour. Tara has been a guest presenter nationally and internationally regarding psychological aspects in the management of diabetes mellitus. She believes therapy can greatly benefit people by creating a safe environment for them to share and discuss their distress, without fearing judgment.

Tara sees people aged 16 years and over.
